Sweet Corn

Postby noahpz on Fri Apr 11, 2008 11:13 pm

Today I made it out to get in a little more winter fun – it was perfect “Krust Kiting” - firm snow in the morning changing to sweet corn in the sunny afternoon. The day’s breeze was perfect - I was able to launch right from the creek bottom and ride directly uphill to the top of Marble Point. These shots were taken near there.

See ya out there,

Noah

Looks like practically endless possibilities to explore. Kickass stuff Noah. Up in the L. Wapiti drainage?

There is a lot of terrain to kite up Taylor's Fork. Some is accessed via snowmobile but a lot is off-limits to motors. I really like that as it keeps it untracked for snowkiting!

Know what you mean about the 'bile-less areas. Best of all if the wind doesn't blow you can always get some nice backcountry turns in. Always a win-win deal.

Wish I had something to report - was off on big exploratories in the Snowies. 1 Place - no big open areas that really said kite-here. Next - huge snow covered hay meadows with nice rolling terrain & near-perfect wind - nobody home to get permission from. Drove clear around the other side of the range knowing there's some nice kite areas over there - no wind :wallbash: :wallbash: . Some days are like that - highlite was seeing a gobbler with ~ 12 hens & he was going nuts fanning tailfeathers & gobbling. His girls looked impressed
