Strawberry late season action.

Good snowkiting today just down the road from Daniels Summit where the road crosses Strawberry river. Conditions were light wind 9-16 ish. I rigged my new Blade Vertigo 16 to check it out and decided to use some new turning skis instead of my usual board. I'll tell you what, that kite was amazing. It turns faster than my 13m waroo, it has amazing upwindability. I was going upwind like never before but then I was on skis instead of my board. The Blade pulled me straight up a hill that seemed really steep, all in light wind. I can't jump on the skis so I am not sure about the vertical component on this kite. I switched to my board and felt like I was going in slow motion, the snow was getting thick. When I tried to jump, I couldn't get much vertical out of it so I don't know if it was the kite, or lack of skill, or maybe my trim wasn't dialed in right. I don't jump very high anyway, but I wish I would have played a little more with the trim settings to try and get it dialed. The relaunch is stupid easy on this kite using it in 4line. I haven't flown in 5line yet. I really had a difficult time landing this thing. It doesn't land easy like the Waroo. I had a real difficult time trying to stop this thing from autolaunching, most of the time that is a good thing but not when you are trying to leave.

The snow is somewhat hard and icy in the morning, then by noonish after it warms a bit it mushes out and gets sticky. When I was there last week there was still enough to cover the fence posts.
