Stormboarding speed contest ends with a record: 70mph

Postby stormboarding on Fri May 09, 2008 6:01 pm

While the rest of us were paying our taxes, Joe Levins was breaking a barrier that has held since the start of this contest: 70.0mph under power of a kite on a frozen surface. He was on his usual, White Bear Lake in Minnesota on a big day.

At the same time the Manitoba crew were achieving their own personal bests passing the 60 mark.

Read about Joe's run and see the list as it stands for the end of this season at http://www.stormboarding.com/speedranking0708.html

Thank you to everyone who participated this year. Congrats on your personal bests or trying for the first time. Have a great time on the liquid and see you online next winter to see how fast you can snowkite.

We would also like to say a big thank you to our prize partners. That little extra inpspiaration goes along way and we are grateful for their generous support: Dakine, Ozone, HQ and Himaya.

Thank you all again. Hope to see you on the water.

Think breeze,
