Postby kitebull on Wed Oct 24, 2007 1:43 am

Aloha
Let's see how this is going, compared to kitefoum.com

I actually like this setup better, looks wise.

Good job.

Maybe we can leave the haters off this site !

I assure you haters will be deleted and moved warned then banned. This is for positive feedback only with minimal advertising I mean really you almost can't even talk about kiting with out saying what you ride on. With that though we're trying to monitor the my kite is better than the rest. Yeah maybe for you but not for all. Enjoy and welcome to the forum. :D

Just a friendly reminder there is a 'report user' button in every reply. The button is in the shape of a yield sign with an exclamation point inside. If you want to report a thread or topic click this button. You will then have an opportunity to describe why this user/thread/topic should be moved/warned/deleted. This provides a democratic method of filtering out "haters".

If you simply dislike someone in the forum you can always add that person to your 'foe' list which will effectively hide all their posts from you while you are logged in. To add a person to your foe list you click on the user's name and click 'add foe'.

Of course I hope nobody has to add anyone to their foe list. ;)

FYI there is a friends list as well. :)

Way to go! i am so stoked on this setup. Props to you admin. for your hard work and ideas here. I completely agree with the mine is way better than yours argument. But nobody here minds me throwing down props to my waroos when people are asking right? As long as Im not belting out how they are better than this or that, correct? Cuz they are better than A.J.s, way less use. damn it!
Im sure all the new 08 models from all companies are sweet! Ecsp the oens made in the US :D :D

Sorry to go off topic, welcome again kitebull, like previously mentioned, got any pics you want to share?

Oahu, sorry to hijack your thread, but . . .

As far as talking about kites and comparing. I think its useful to talk about the different set ups - and many times the only way to have meaningful conversations is to compare the different brands. For example, someone might ask - whats the bar pressure like on the 2007 torches? Well, unless you have some type of a guage that says like 2.9 pounds or something like that then you pretty much have to compare it. You could say more than the X brand but less than Y brand.

Of course there are many of us here who are very passionate about our kites and many of us are sold on a certain brand for whatever reason - but I think the general rule should be - if your comment does not add anything to the conversation then it should be removed. On one of my other forums there are a select few that are always saying stuff like, this brand of kites are for (fill in the derogative comment) and this riding spot is for (fill in the derogative comment). These add nothing - I feel cr@p like this should be deleted. Also, blanket statements like X brand is the best - should really be avoided. Without any other explanation that statement has no value or meaning.

It is possible to have constructive comparissons of brands/kites/models - the immature people (who are generally in the small minority) should simply be banned which will sned a message to the other immature people that this forum isn't for flame wars.
