Colorado Kiter

Postby crazymike on Wed Oct 31, 2007 1:49 pm

Hey, I am from Colorado and am just getting into the sport of kiting. I am also new to this forum. It looks like a good forum and I am glad to see there is a forum for US kiters. I have been waiting for this type of forum.

Anyways on with my question. Any Colorado kiters know of any goods areas I could snowkite? I've heard Lake Dillon is a favorite...

Get a hold of the Colorado Kite Force...Paul Motz is a stand up guy who may be able to nurture you along. The only place I know of to kite is lake Dillon.

Colorado Kiter, what part of Colorado are you in? I have a rider in Buena Vista that used to live here but has been down there running a bar and restaraunt for his family for about a two years now. He is an experienced snow, landboard, and buggy rider. He would love to have others in his area to ride with. He also knows of several areas to ride. If you are interested in getting in contact with him I can hook you two up.

I like to stand as close to the edge as I can, because from there you can see all the things you cant from the center.

Depending on what you mean by close. In Colorado there are is an event at Lake Dillon called the Therapy Session. It is in March I believe. In Utah there are several events in December and February. In Montana we events in December and February as well. If you want to get lessons sooner you can go up to Lake Dillon and they are always happy to help people out. Get a hold of Colorado Kite Force. They are located there and get you going.

You can Demo Best Kites At lake Dillion March 8-9. Best kiteboarding will be stopping there to join Gary Green @ ggwind@comcast.net....Check the Best Kiteboarding Snowkite Rv Tour for other stops in the western united states this winter. A good Chance to Try before you buy! Gary is probably one of the Best instructors I have ever met! He makes it easy to understand and puts a lot of enthusiasm into his lesson plan! Good Luck Bud....If you sought this sport out, and you want to do it, it will be no problem for you to learn! :D
