Which Landboard?

Postby jcrjet on Tue Jan 01, 2008 10:03 am

I am thinking about getting a board. I am primarily a snowkiter. Is there a board available for a 200 pounder that won't break and won't break the bank? Suggestions?

Well there are a few options out there.

Hq has a line up of some landboards they look good and are priced cheaply.
Ground industries. Well it doesn't get any better than this. Prices vary and hold up very well.
Mbs makes some killer boards and very colorful wheel setups.

Ground boarding is a very fun and anytime of the year sport. This is where you master your kite skills is if you ride a landboard you can ride anything. I learned most of my kite skills whilst on a landboard. You can go used or go new. I like the 300$-400$ range. IF you go to low you may get instablity problems and basically get something that is to weak for higher speed kiting. The above board manufactures are specifically making boards for kiting. The thing i'm stoked about the GI boards are the trucks I love stiffer suspenision and carving like turning the bionics have speed blocks which are interchangable for different speeds. :drinks:
I love the wind and I love getting HIGH on air.

i have an MBS board that is old but works for the small stuff. After riding on the heel edge for some time the trucks are now stiff in that postion. if i push it it will do a big circle and come right back to me. i'm sure all boards will do that tho

I've seen the Ground industry boards and they look super bomb! i like the footstrap setup, seems really secure.
The other option is to check out the Kite specific boards like the ones flexifoil makes.

hope that helps ya,
