made my own board out of Al

Postby weldngod on Wed Nov 14, 2007 7:34 pm

I got my first land board last x-mas.within a month it cracked right in half. I don't even jump, just cruise on beach. While I was waiting on SCRUB to replace my obviously defective board,I could not take it any more. And this had to make do until the new one arrived.the two strips on the bottom were for strength, and the shrinkage from welding caused the whole board to bow upward . adding spring to it .

Wow you really are the Weldngod. Props to you man that looks better than anything i've seen from the scrub lineup thus far.
Curious?
what is the weight?
what would it cost?
could it hold up to a 20 foot drop?
could hold 200#'s plus.

Looks sweet i'm thinking of updating my gear just curious.
I love the wind and I love getting HIGH on air.

By the way are your springs on your board squishy and wobbly at high speeds or did you add some extra dampening?

I luv it , but it ain't for jumping. unless you were maybe jumpin a ramp or mound.the deck weighs 12 lbs.It is like having a tank strapped to your feet. but handled great. but I do use hard eggshocks. might try some trampa dampas, see if their better or not. ( Man, I wish I could afford a Trampa board) Oh , yeah I weigh 175 and I didn't phase it. so I'm thinkin with weight where the bindings are it would probably top 500 -600 pounds before it bent. But from a dynamic standpoint , if you put 600 lbs on it and drop it 20 feet. It would bend, trucks and tires would explode, etc. I also made this , don't know if it will work ,but I've been building and making " suicide machines " since I could take a bicycle apart.9-10 y.o. maybe.... hardley ever snows here but hell, at least I'm prepared. Let ya' know my results

Very nice weldngod!
I like to stand as close to the edge as I can, because from there you can see all the things you cant from the center.
