Landboarding for the first time!

Postby NYKiter on Tue Nov 20, 2007 6:46 pm

Here are some pics of me landboarding for the first time. Wind was not very strong. This is on a really crappy landboard and my Beamer TSR. Did pretty well, until I found a hole on the beach, twice...

Nothing special but enjoy!

HELLO EAST COASTER! Welcome to the forum. Three very important things I noticed right away. NO HELMET, NO KNEE PADS, NO L-BOW PADS! If your gonna make it in this sport ,you better start wearing protection. I don't mean to be preaching at you ,but I know the unpredictability of mother nature.( any second she could bite you in the ass). Plus if people start getting hurt ,or hurt other people, it won't be long till we get banned or regulated. But anyway welcome aboard, be cool ,stay safe.

You are right. I definatly should have had some padding on but didn't know the true power of these kites then. I always wear a helmet when I go out now :)

I have not seen a single kiter besides myself around the beach.

Lets see some pics with that new harness on. It will make a big difference in your kiting pulling that center of gravity farther down and it will help your riding alot. Safety gear will always be at the top of the list. In the begining you need much more padding as you progress the need for all of it becomes less and less. If i'm going to do lots of jumping I'll were helmet pressure suit and knee pads. Now i primarily only wear a helmet. Looks like you're getting the hang of it.
I love the wind and I love getting HIGH on air.

Does your board have binding's on it? It looks like in the pic that maybe there aren't any. Bindings will drastically improve your riding.

Are you in my head or something?!?! I was just about to post a thread on the bindings! See http://www.uskiteforum.com/landboarding-buggying-f4/where-get-cheap-bindings-t196.html for my question. ;)
