Postby Craz Z on Wed Feb 06, 2008 5:02 pm

Is anybody out tearing it up on the dry land this time of the year or is everyone's focus on snow? Lets here some stories about the lateset adventure or new toys.
I love the wind and I love getting HIGH on air.

Had my first run @ Buggy riding last weekend ... :D

While my house copped 100mm of rain I drove about 80km to enjoy 'the perfect day'
No snow down here (Aus) but plenty of sand :D Got some great runs in ... average length was about 3km and the wind was 10k (ish) and a perfect onshore. Tide was 1 hour off low when I arrived and there was enough beach for about 15 of us for at least 5 hours.

What a cracker

Drooled all day

You gotta ask? Hell yeah, I'm BREAKIN THE LAW, BREAKIN THE LAW. I had a nice sesh the other day after that butch ranger incident. Tore up the beach on my landboard, it was a blast. Until I hit one of those soft spots,ughhh... faceplant! What the hell is that ? I'm thinking water is running under the sand back to the bay. They are completely random and not in the same areas all the time. One minute you are cruisin' then your wheels go axle deep in quicksand... splat! Gotta love it!!

Got the chance to try a little snow skiing with my kites a couple of times this year..It was pretty cool actually(no pun intended) Tried to give a snowboard a whirl but that didn't work out so well..Here in Iowa the weather has been up and down temp wise, had a little Indian summer In Dec. That was my last buggy outing till the spring thaw.. Next year I want to get a jump on building an ice buggy of some sort..Any rate thats whats going on In Iowa. Tim

ICE buggy .......... sounds deadly

I imagine you would not want to get hit by the blades .

You must have some great open space there for your toys ...do you land buggy much ?

I am from Brisbane in Australia ... we dont get the weather extremes here ... Summer in hot for a while .. but mostly its sweet, winter gets cool (when you are used to the heat) but we never get any white stuff ... Ya gotta drive about 1300 miles to get to the snow from here. I usually wear a 3mm wetsuit in winter ... but thats cause Im a softie ... lol. Its not getting sunburnt to death that is more the extreme here

I kitesurf, Landboard .. and am just getting into Buggying.

Simply put ,.... I'm a kiteaholic

I just made it out for the first time this year and it rocked!

This weekend was the first meet for NAPKRA pilots at Sunset Beach in Oregon. The weather was awesome and very unlike February

I rode for about an hour and a half Saturday afternoon at Sunset with a nice North wind and then about 4 hours on Sunday in Seaside with East wind. East wind (offshore), is usually a bit gusty, but it was actually pretty smooth, just a bit off and on- best of all the sun was out- you know, that glowing ball in the sky that you rarely see in these parts during the winter! :D

Here's a link to a video that I put together with some shots that my other half filmed this weekend....

What a session .... most runs were 35 - 40 mph

Another great spring day at the coast today! Winds were a bit light averaging about 10mph, but they were perfectly on shore and at Sunset, that means nearly 12 miles of continuous beach to cruise :D. I covered 16 miles in less than 1 1/2 hours and had a top speed of 21 mph. Not the fastest or farthest I've gone, but a sign of a good day none the less  Also, I had new toys to play with today- bigfoot tires and a GPS- whoo-hoo!
