Although the weekend sucked for wind last Thurs was just right for a day out on War Horse Lake.
20 - 40 yard walk-outs with kite & board. Solid, grassy, & no muck or bad rocks, or poky weeds or thistles to stab my feet. Easiest self-launch opportunities imagineable. No boats, outcrop islands, people, jet ski-galkers, to hassle with in my no-skills launches. Warm water - a shorty was plenty comfortable all afternoon(75 deg airtemps that day). Closest person was maybe 3 miles away in the nearest farmhouse.
Sorry - I've tried to load 2 pictures I took that day but the thing says my file is too big & I'm just not savvy enough with my camera & programs to have a clue how to fix it so it'll fit. Anyone help?
Not a place to camp, since - when the wind dies the bugs will eat your lunch here. I suspect that by August & certainly by next year if water levels hold this lake will turn into more of a swampy/marshy type place & not be so good but for now its the only place I want to go if there's wind. There's room to crash at my place if anyone wants to come over.
Size - I'd say this lake is maybe 2/3rds the overall size of Georgetown, maybe 1/2, but guaranteed if you're out there kiting you'd be the only people on this lake.
