Crash- note really a kitemare

Postby archkiter on Sun Nov 04, 2007 4:53 pm

I was heading out to Sunset today with my husband and dog to do a bit of buggying. Our car was rear-ended in a rather nasty accident. All parties involved are okay and were able to walk away with only a few bumps and bruises but looks like I'll be in the market for a new buggy. My buggy was attached to a hitch on the rear of the car and took most of the initial impact. I think the side rails have been flattened. I am not sure how sound the rest of it is.

Here are a few pics from the crash....

It was rather amusing to see how the tow truck decided to deal with the buggy :ugeek:

So no buggying for me today
Buckle up and be safe out there peeps.

That highway is kind of a crazy one at times. I am sure glad your dog is OK as well, thats funny he ws like,"F... this Im outta here!!".
I like to stand as close to the edge as I can, because from there you can see all the things you cant from the center.

Yeah he jumped out of the back a split second after we were hit. One witness thought that he was thrown from the car. Thankfully someone caught him as he was trying to flee the scene. He was pretty freaked out.

Wow sorry to hear about your accident. There are tons of nut jobs on that highway and alot are not paying attention to the road more at the scenery. That was one sweeeeet buggy what is that? That looks like a pure full out speed buggy.
I love the wind and I love getting HIGH on air.

It is/was a Libre Full Race. Definitely a sweet cruzing machine. I was told that this very buggy briefly held the speed record of something like 68mph for about 4 minutes until Luk Stanik beat it with his speed of 72mph. Crazy or what!?

Hopefully insurance will replace it- I am still waiting to find out.
