Ozone Access?

Postby northidahokiter on Tue Nov 27, 2007 1:33 pm

Got my dads 8m access out finally in some pretty good wind. Anyway, i was having one problem. This was a used bar so the DD that secures the chicken loop in, kept coming undone, resulting in unintentional unhooked flying. So question being: Is there a spot to attach a last ditch leash like on a bow kite, or are foils just not designed for that because you can kill all power to them anyway? I would think the foil riders are also wanting to do some unhooked tricks, so they would need the leash there, is that also called the suicide leash? :? Thanks fellas
I like to stand as close to the edge as I can, because from there you can see all the things you cant from the center.

OH yes I do know what you're talking about. Ozone in 06 released a wonderful attachment to your spreader bar this dd was the strongest i've seen and i still use it on every kite i have. It curled around the spreader bar and stayed with your harness. It works on every kite and is solid. I have been tossed out of many kites and use it for this reason. They did break and get so stiff in the super cold it was a chore to get hooked in but unless you pull the o sh%& handle your not coming out. The leash i believe was originally designed to clip into the middle brake line or black fabric which links the steering lines up. Of cours it made no sense to clip in to this its called the leashless kite. the top hat makes depower a snap. the dd coming out sucks and means if you don't wanna be in that situaion means a reset or pulling the top hat to kill it and re hookup. I'm not sure if the 06 dd is still available but in my opinion it was the toughest i've ever been on.
I love the wind and I love getting HIGH on air.
